I have only photographed two polo games here in Aiken. From the photographs, me personally, worry about the horses. Yes, I realize they are athletes, and that this is a sport. But, so many of the photographs I have taken are very graphic, and have detail of the horse's mouths being in pain. The one below though, I found to be very different. The rider's rein's are loose in the horse's mouth. This means that there isn't a pull or vice grip contracting the metal bit up into the roof of the horse's mouth to cause pain. These two, are working as a team. Just look at that ball. Then, look at the eyes of the rider, his balanced seat on the horse, the loose grip of the reins, and last but NOT least, where the horse's eyes are focused. Where are they? Right on the BALL. Love it. Team work.
