I am in awe of the athleticism of horses. You really have to wonder who is the better athlete. The rider or the horse? Remember the photograph of the horse that came in second at the Steeplechase that I posted awhile back where the horse's rider had fallen off at the start of the race! Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
I like this polo pony below. The sweat, the veins, the flaring nostrils. You can almost feel the slippery salty fur. Ears centered back on his rider. The blue tipped polo stick so very close to the horse's head. The penetrating gaze like stare coming from his eye. What was that old saying? "You're only as good as your horse?' Or, did I just make that up?

Meet Prince! His breed is a Missouri Foxtrotter. His color is called a blue roan! He is part of my herd! He is a real sweetheart! Smart as anything, and a pleaser. He definitely owns my heart!
Below is a beautiful morgan named Ketchup! He was rescued by Pam McLeod. He was in training here in Aiken, SC with Julie Robin's (JulieRobins.com) at her Dragon Fly Farm. He was a bit of a hand full (if I remember right) at the time. You can see, he is an absolutely brilliant horse! Just look at his beautiful smart eyes! He was in the round pen going through some exercises at the time this photograph was taken. Not sure he appreciated his training, for I believe he paused just for second in his gallop around the ring to ask me for help! How did he do that? Not sure, just look at this photo!
"Hey photographer lady, can you help me out here?" "Can I squeeze through these bars?" "Can I warm you with my big soft brown eyes to make you feel sorry for me?" "Um, yes you can!" :) Love his forelock flowing to the right side of his head. Love that it has caught the sunlight. Like that part of it is in flight between his ears. One ear on me, one ear facing sideways. His mane flowing in the air to the opposite side! His eyes, just melt me. The strong nose with a bone indention to each side. Huge flaring, breathing nostrils! Loved this guy! Pam (his rescuer and owner) has a facebook page just for him at the link below! Ketchup, Rescue Morgan This was an umpire in a polo game I saw several months ago. I just came across it and kind of liked the lighting to it. I really like the horses expression. I think he is saying "hey, you are not going to get away with anything during my watch!" He seems pretty purposeful in his walk!
I just fell in love with this little guy! He stole the show with his agility tackling an obstacle course! Not exactly sure what the title of this photograph should be. Actually, I do, but not sure if it is proper? You can leave a comment and let me know what YOU would entitle this post!
