Sorry for the lapse in posting! I have been having a wonderful visit from my parents. I am STILL having a wonderful visit from my parents/best friends. So, posting is secondary to the importance of my time with them. But, the photo itch is in my brain and wish to share an old print I did. Not that old mind you, but - maybe ten years or so. A print in black and white taken from the Fort Worth Zoo in Texas. I love this photo of the KINGS of the jungle. Harmony, and Respect.
Maybe, that was their names?
This photo is hand printed in my dark room. Hope you like it!
Having six horses as I do, can keep you on your toes. Horses know what they are doing at all times, but having an owner that has to pay vet bills for alpha dominance in the herd can be painful. I have since separated my new guy "Prince" from the two geldings that I had him with. It was a smart move, and safety comes first. I was having him in with the two lowest of the herd guys. Interestingly enough, the main man in this small herd, decided after Prince arrived that he actually LOVED his partner Beau and this new guy "Prince" wasn't going to get anywhere near his guy. SO interesting to watch the change of the herd. Prince is in a word a "Prince," and is not affected at all by their aloofness. He is a stoic man of pride, and a bonder to me. He is in one word, "magnificent." The photograph below is of the main dude in this scenario, his name is Nugget. He is just as magnificent, and becoming a brave leader. So proud of him. Here he is in all of his ex-stallioness!!
A fantastic workshop photo shoot with Julie Robins with her Enhancing the Relationship course. This was day three. It was amazing to me the advancement that the participants made, and their horses were so in tune to their owners. Loved every second getting to photograph this, and learned THREE AHA moments for myself, even though I think I know so much after five years... I DO NOT!!!! I will never know enough, this is why I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!!!! :) REMEMBER, you can click on the below photograph to be taken to the gallery. If for some reason it doesn't, you can always click on the tab at the top named "portfolio Gallery and Purchasing," and you can find the thumbnail for this gallery. Enjoy!
Just look at the color of this horse!! Look at the marbled eyes and the eye lashes. Oh, don't forget to look at the right eye. Look at the definition on the face with the jowl. The nose. The shine. OK, now look at the neck and the rear right leg muscles!! Last but not least, look at the swirl between his eyes in his fur/hair. What a smart, intelligent man!
His name is Borrego, and his slave is Kendra DeKay...
Here is Kendra and her horse Borrego having a fun time in the field! How did she get there? Is her horse about to trample her? Is she lifting him up in the air? What's with this photo anyway? I can't figure it out, can you?
