per·se·ver·ance noun \ˌpər-sə-ˈvir-ən(t)s\ : continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition : the action or condition or an instance of persevering : steadfastness Heading into the new year. My sister n' law, Nancy, (my husband who passed away sister) wrote the most beautiful Christmas card this year. Her husband, Cliff, passed away this past year. In her Christmas card, she wrote a quote, that Cliff would read on New Years eve. I have never seen or read it before. It really, really touched me. I would like to share it with you, just in case you haven't seen it either! Maybe, we can all make it a new tradition to read this to our own families? I Am The New Year Author Unknown Life, I am the new year. I am an unspoiled page in your book of time. I am your next chance at the art of living. I am your opportunity to practice what you have learned about life during the last twelve months. All that you sought and didn't find is hidden in me, waiting for you to search it out with more determination. All the good that you tried for and didn't achieve is mine to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires. All that you dreamed but didn't dare to do, all that you hoped but did not will, all the faith that you claimed but did not have - these slumber lightly, waiting to be awakened by the touch of a strong purpose. I am your opportunity to renew your allegiance to Him who said, 'behold, I make all things new.' I am the new year. The below photograph for me, captures this quote. Moving forward, momentum, Perseverance... I hope you like it! :) Click to set custom HTML FEAR
"an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger." I am not sure who I feel sadder for, the horse or its rider. The quality or state of being clear : lucidity
Looking at this beautiful horse I just have to say that he is definitely thinking. Highly intelligent. Thinking "to employ one's mind rationally and objectively in evaluating or dealing with a given situation." Daydreaming? I personally do not think so. Just look at his eyes! Definitely thinking. :) Q From On a wing and a prayer: What does on a wing and a prayer mean?
A It means that you’re in a desperate situation and you’re relying on hope to see you through. that it comes from a famous American World War Two patriotic song, with words by Harold Adamson and music by Jimmy McHugh. It tells the tale of a plane struggling home after a bombing raid: Comin’ in on a wing and a prayer What a show, what a fight Boys, we really hit our target for tonight How we sing as we limp through the air Look below, there’s our field over there Though there’s one motor gone We can still carry on Comin’ in on a wing and a prayer. The song came out at the end of 1942 and instantly became a huge hit on both sides of the Atlantic, so much so that the phrase almost immediately entered the language. This is what is wonderful about the horse. They do not re-hash in their mind. They form an opinion. They stick to it. Once abused, hurt, starved... Unless, you convince them otherwise. Fear and death is an amazing thing. If I had the body of a horse, do you think I would ever let anyone control me? Hurt me? I am a powerful being. I must be so above the human to EVER let them be one with me.
If you think in this way, when you have the love from your horse, and they offer to you, you are an amazing, lucky person. Today my labrador Brewer entered heaven. She gave me thirteen years of love. I am so happy that we have memories, for THAT is really all we are made of. The photograph below to me portrays this.
Always in our mind, and not far.... Love, it is forever... pen·sive adjective \ˈpen(t)-siv\ Definition of PENSIVE1 : musingly or dreamily thoughtful 2 : suggestive of sad thoughtfulness Two gold buckles on top of each other. The holes aligned going down. The small glimpse of the forelock on the left top of the photo. One single brow hair over his left eye. He almost has a defined eyebrow in dark brown over this eye. Do you see it? Short eyelashes over a marbled eye with a small white focus pin. A pink reflection that I have no clue of.
The color. The brown, the black, the silver. What a beautiful guy. :) A friend of mine (Barbara) has this little mini! I just love the coloring of him, and his forelock! Beautiful eyed little guy.
