Having six horses as I do, can keep you on your toes. Horses know what they are doing at all times, but having an owner that has to pay vet bills for alpha dominance in the herd can be painful. I have since separated my new guy "Prince" from the two geldings that I had him with. It was a smart move, and safety comes first. I was having him in with the two lowest of the herd guys. Interestingly enough, the main man in this small herd, decided after Prince arrived that he actually LOVED his partner Beau and this new guy "Prince" wasn't going to get anywhere near his guy. SO interesting to watch the change of the herd. Prince is in a word a "Prince," and is not affected at all by their aloofness. He is a stoic man of pride, and a bonder to me. He is in one word, "magnificent." The photograph below is of the main dude in this scenario, his name is Nugget. He is just as magnificent, and becoming a brave leader. So proud of him. Here he is in all of his ex-stallioness!!
