Godfather's Beau Dancer Deep in thought, warming eyes to the soul. This is my Missouri Fox Trotter Beau. What I like about the photograph is that his eyes truly DO tell you what his soul is all about. He is a real sweetheart. I love the marbling of his eye, the black eyelashes and the long lashes below. His mane is actually black, but with the cold wetness of the snow, it showed red highlights. His eyes never change, they always, always, give a warm invitation..

This photograph was taken about three weeks ago here at the Highfields event center in Aiken, SC. The wind at the time of the shoot was probably 35 miles an hour. With the sun shining it felt like the temperature was in the teens. I only took this one photograph that day. What do I like about this photograph? The intense look on the face of the horse looking at the upcoming jumps. The perfect grooming of the horse, not a stray hair anywhere. The mane braided to perfection. The seat of the rider is perfect. The hands on the reins. The legs of the rider appear to be a part of the horse! Ok, so I have been thrown into the digital world, kicking all of the way. First things first. I will not supply photographs that have been re-touched and artificially colored. I am true to my photographs! What you see, will be what I have seen. I hope to provide a daily photo here on this blog with a few ramblings. The photograph above is a photograph of two of my horses! Gator and Jester. I live in SC where snow if suppose to not be a factor. VOILA! It was! My poor two fellows were not impressed. They were thanking me though for the warm coats. "Coats on horses?" you may be asking.... Why, yes! I loved this photograph because of the green of their coats standing out . I also thought that I would post this photo (taken about three weeks ago) since my family are in the midst of a blizzard in PA. I didn't feel it would be right to put up a photo of the beautiful hot sunny day it is outside today. Maybe, tomorrow? Chow! |
