A very unusual photograph. Maybe, not something you would wish to have framed on your wall. But, an intriguing photo is FUN. Fun for the owner, and fun for the viewer. You just have to ask them to look. SEE. What do you see? Many people will have different reactions. They might see something amazing to them! They, on the other hand may see "nothing..." ho hum. Some, may try to analyze. Some may take a glance and react, then - blah. Nothing there.... Sometimes, if someone points out their perspective, their view, a photograph can take on a life of its own. As in the photograph below. Please view it, then see my narrative below. Hope you have fun! What do you see? Ready? Let's go! Take a look! You see a MESS. Doesn't look like a photograph to you, does it? Hmm, not really. I mean, what is she trying to say with this photo and why would she put this here for me to spend my time looking at it. Well, um, take another glance. There is so much in this photo, and I can't wait to talk about it.
First of all, the right ear of this horse is standing up straight! The vein going through the middle. If you have had the chance to feel a horse's ears when they are so taut, and tense, they are hard to the touch. But, they can be soft and relaxed at other times. This horse's right ear is at attention. So, what happened to this horse's other ear? Oh my gosh, he doesn't have one! WHAT! OH MY! Poor horse! Right? Ah, no... look closely. The horse's left ear has melted down into his fur of his head. Yes, it is there. Look right above the brow band of the bridle. So, what is the horse doing? He had a huge itch I believe down in the bottom of his left leg. Trying to scratch through his leg wrap. I can imagine it might feel like having a human cast on, and trying to get that spot. Look at the forelock from the middle of his head so beautifully brushed. The boots of the dressage rider worn and experienced. Are you finished looking now? Or, do you see the highlight of this "boring photo?" Look to your left. The welcoming paw of a canine grabbing their owner's boot for connection and love. Sometimes, a photograph can be something that you just might not realize the entire impact.
