This is one powerful horse. He is a Missouri Fox Trotter and 20 years old. He has lived through laminitis that happened a year and a half ago. He is what they call an "old foundation Fox Trotter." They were originally bred for their strength and sturdiness on the trail with sure footing. They all have the powerful hind end. Gator's is amazing! Sorry to focus on a hiny (he he) but just look at the power he has there! HUGE! When you stand behind him, you can't see the front of him for the large powerful hips. The winter fur coat has started to come in. He will soon resemble a large bear. His name is Gator, and he is a true partner. He is mine... and I am his!

Here is a sweetheart and a looker! The horse breed is Icelandic. Owned by Teresa! Just look at the highlights!
The concentration of the eye! Just look at the forelock! This is the part of the mane that is between the ears that grows like bangs. What a beauty of a horse! This is a huge favorite photograph that I took back in 2001 and developed in my darkroom. The little girl's name is Tiffany, and the kitty - Midnight. The eyes are so important to me, they show the inner soul, and the insides of YOU. This little girl had some very sad eyes, and a longing to them. You can almost feel her strong clutch around Midnight, the forever hug, the intense smell she is smelling with her nose buried in the fur. I loved this little girl, and hope today, ten years later, she is ok. This is not a digital photo. I am seriously attached to this beautiful one blue eyed guy. His name is Sonny, and owned by Sara. He is the most handsome dude in town. Love him!
Today was a fantastic day for a workshop in the most beautiful place in the world! Hitchcock Woods here in Aiken SC!
Julie Robins had another fantastic workshop with her assistant Kendra Dekay. Click on the photograph to be taken to the gallery and remember to click on the "slide show" button at the top right of the screen for a large view. It was a ton of fun, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. You can also always go to the galleries by clicking on the tab above named "Portfolio Gallery and Purchasing." Here is an old photograph back in the days of black and white (printed in my darkroom) that was taken at the Fort Worth TX Zoo. I can't enlarge it here on this site, but it is a gem. Why? You may ask? You just have to believe me when you talk about family. The guy all of the way on the right (oh, I should tell you that they are meerkats) just HAS to be the family man. The stud. The provider, the hen pecked dude. Just look at his expression. He is holding a rock in his left hand to ward off predators. The Mother, on the other hand (all of the way on the left) is mad as heck! Why in the world is her husband WAY over there and not posing with the family? Older brother is perfect next to mom, and then sister below holding her little sister? What a group, what a family. They were posing for me and it was an awesome day photographing them!
Julie Robins and her team joined up two days ago to have a FUN photo shoot! Well, it was, and I have to say, I think as a woman, I am a bit jealous! She is such a model, not in appearance only, but as a horsewoman. I admire her very much, and was proud to have so much FUN enjoying the shoot. The photographs are memories, and she definitely made a ton.
Bali is a horse being trained for driving a carriage! She has beautiful soft eyes and seems to crave her lessons and new knowledge. Love her mane and soft muzzle! The white on her forehead is almost in the shape of a heart. What a sweetheart!
Photo shoot yesterday for a workshop with Julie Robins and Kendra DeKay at the Hopeland Farm Cross Country Course! The workshop was to have our personal horses develop their confidence around horses in motion while pulling a carriage! There was a miniature horse and a horse helping in the desensitizing. Kendra was in training with teaching a student horse named Bali to get used to a cart. Then, a zooming golf utility cart came into the picture! Oh, and don't forget the trail ride through the woods. Everything went smoothly, and the horses were absolutely amazing with their confidence building! I think if you click on the photo below, you will go to the gallery. If not, find it above in the Portfolio Gallery tab above! Enjoy!
