This photograph makes me hold my breath. Having taken a bad fall in the past, I am just in awe of this little girl. She was going over a large jump and fell. She quickly got up, took a hold of her horse, and bravely walked out of the ring to speak with her trainer. As you can see, she didn't stop to brush herself off. I am thinking that maybe, she didn't realize the impact of her fall. If you ever question the use of a riding helmet, just look where this little girl landed. Her head. What a fall it must have been, and even her riding coat has been wrinkled by the fall. There use to be a number on her back too for her entry, it came off in the fall. I love a photograph that has feeling, and even though you can't see her face, this photo has power to move me.

These are two very low on the pole non aggressive horses. They were "playing". I am learning EVERY DAY horse language and knowing that just like my new puppy AMORE that she turns into an alpha in a second. Same seems to go with the horses. They can be so submissive, but, they then are venturing, routing, aspiring, what is the word ?? for the top dog, the top horse, the TOP STUD. It is a huge rivalry, and would you believe that the mare they are fighting for is
me. so crazy. So, Yes, they are no longer where they can play and fight with each other. I hate it, because I know they love the interaction. But, the vet bills when the play becomes "more" is too much "more." I only have one comment, and that is the POWER. This horse has every muscle in his/her body tensed. Do you see it? Look at the muscle definition in the hind end, look at the tail UP, look at the head UP, = look at the middle of the horse and the tense-ness. The muscles are rippling. They are free, but
but but tense..... He/she is unsure... He/she is a prey animal, and acting as one. No problems. It is a GREAT/wonderful thing, to have a horse that is alert to the surroundings. He/She can keep you safe. What is your take on this photo? What do you think? |
