To me, there is just something about a black horse…
“His mane was like a crest, mounting, then falling low. His neck was long and slender, and arched to the small, savagely beautiful head. The head was that of the wildest of all wild creatures- a stallion born wild- and it was beautiful, savage, splendid. A stallion with a wonderful physical perfection that matched his savage, ruthless spirit.” ― Walter Farley Quoted from his book, THE BLACK STALLION

This photograph intrigues me a bit. I hope it intrigues you too! The reason being, is because I am not sure where to focus my attention first. Do you concentrate on the feeling of the subject? Do you look at the eye? The pupil barely sneaking through the middle of the white long lashes? How about the the stiffness of the well oiled leather of the bridle. Maybe, you concentrated on the three gold buckles that you would be taking your hands up to undue? Did the triangles on the reins grab you? The greenness of the background with the sun shining on his/her face with small shadows you need to look for. The crease lines for the brow area above the eye? The small rust colored dapples on the face, and the swirl in the fur at the neck line. The hardness of the jaw. The small veins that pop out under the skin from below the eye and around the nose. Maybe, nothing grabbed you. But then, are you still reading? Hope so! Now, take another look… Where do you focus?
"Hi there, my name is Guinness, although I like being called Handsome." "Between you and me, I sure am happy the cold snap is over with!"
I am sure by now if you have followed any of my photography, you will see that their are many photographs of the horses eye! Can't help it. They intrigue me! This was of a beautiful palomino's eye!
Look into my eyes
and you will be surprised how much you will see you can't defy how hypnotic am I a spirit that longs to be free ©Laurie Fix when it's over, and only if we won!"
What is the quote, "reality is what you make it?" Maybe, if you keep your eyes closed, you can always be the winner! :) eye on you…
Horse's are incredibly intuitive. They are also always "aware" of everything in their surroundings. If you are an owner of a horse, you will agree! Just when you think your horse is happily munching away on some grass up in the pasture eight acres away from you, you turn around and they are standing next to you. Oh, and NEVER leave a gate open, even if you think they haven't noticed! Heck, you were just going to run into the barn for a second! How in the world did he/she get here so fast? Must have been teleported! |
