Going back and looking at photographs from a photo shoot is interesting. A ton more interesting when you see a photograph that you (me) have over looked. Now knowing the background of these two horses in the photo make this one, incredibly special. At least to me.
If you looked at the last gallery that I posted below, you would have seen that a young colt that has never been separated from his mother (the mare) was a huge, anxiety process. So, coming across this photograph tonight, was surreal. Here, below, you can see the young colt. But, look in the background... The Mother/mare still taking care of him. Still watching over him. As, we do in our own lives. Always, ALWAYS - taking care of the children. Let's look at this photo. Love that the ears are upright in both horses. Look at the depth of the black rusty hole in their ears. The manes, are parted in the same way across the front of the eyes. The blaze (the white part of the fur that goes down the middle to the nose) is almost the same for the colt and his mother! Just have to make a mention on the colt thinking to the present and future here. The Mother, all wise, in the background, taking a lovingly look of happiness for him, but also, a loss. She is not ready to have him out of her life. Are we ever ready?
